      In my spare time, I spend time with my daughter Aurelia (aged 3 and two-thirds until next week, when she’ll be three and three-fourths). I like hiking and traveling and gardening and cooking, but especially baking. I can make the most delicious cupcakes you’ve ever tasted.

      I also enjoy the occasional book or television show. I do some voice acting for a podcast series, and I love taking time out every week to iron my clothes. It sounds silly, but it’s true!

      I try to make the most of my free time. I’m married and my husband and I love to travel and explore new places. We have plans to go to Austin, TX and Ireland in the next 2 months! We also love to go to new zoos, aquariums, and play with our crazy cat (Binx, named after the cat in Hocus Pocus).

      I also love yoga, especially head stands, as well as rowing and running. I’m also a big sports fan (from Cleveland) that enjoys fantasy football and going to football, hockey, and basketball games. When I can I love reading too.

      In my spare time I like to read and cook new things. Sometimes my cooking experiments are huge failures (eggplant soup was NOT a good idea) but sometimes they are delicious. I have an aquarium with penguin tetras and ram cichlids that are fun to watch because they have their own territories that they defend from other fish… and I love to read and watch movies.

      I play video games (mainly ones on my computer), read books, exercise, garden and play with my animals. I also watch television and movies. What do you do in your spare time?

      I try to schedule lots of time for family, research, and teaching.

      In my free time I go running, swimming, hiking, and I do science outreach!
