I believe many dead animals can still carry and spread disease, especially as they decompose, but I will leave this question to the experts (not me)!

Jonathan is right. Yes, a lot of germs can live on dead animals!

Absolutely. It’s one of the reasons I’m really careful waking my dogs – I don’t want them eating any strange stuff that’s been sitting on the ground – be it dead squirrel or some other more processed foods.
