      Hi 457hemb33, thanks for the great question!
      The easiest and best thing to do now if you live in an area where Zika virus is present (Zika has not been transmitted by mosquitoes in the US yet) is to make sure you don’t get bitten by mosquitoes. You can also make sure there isn’t any standing water outside your house where mosquitoes might like to lay eggs. Sometimes people get bit by mosquitoes in other countries and then return to the US and become sick with Zika- but that’s not really very common either. The risk of getting Zika in the US is very very low, and even if you get it it’s uncommon to be very ill from it. So, I would read up about it so you are informed, and mostly just avoid mosquitoes.
