      I don’t know.

For now, I’d rather focus on how we can make our small corner of the universe better for all the people living in it.

I think there is some evidence that other dimensions exist, but not in the way that we would imagine them (as an opposite universe). I think this could be a good place to read more: http://press.cern/backgrounders/extra-dimensions

I honestly don’t know. I have never learned much about other dimensions. I suppose anything is possible.

One of my favorite things to say as a scientist is “I don’t know.” The joy of science is *not* knowing things, rather than pretending that we know everything.

So let me applaud my fellow scientists for saying they don’t know the answer to this question. I don’t know, either. I don’t think anyone does, for sure.

But there’s lots of evidence to suggest that there’s more to our universe than what we can see. Our universe is chock-full of some kind of exotic matter or energy that we can’t see. In fact, we can only see about 5% of what’s in the universe around us! I don’t mean we can only see 5% of the universe using telescopes and things. I mean that if you studied everything you can see in the room around you right now, you’d still miss most of what’s there! Everything else doesn’t seem to interact with light or matter in a way that we can detect. Isn’t that wild?

Some scientists believe that there are extra dimensions or opposite universes that are all stacked on top of each other. But as Stephanie mentioned, they probably don’t look like we think. There probably isn’t another universe with me walking around backwards or something. But there’s a lot more to our universe (or multiverse) than what we can see, which is deeply, deeply exciting.

I do not know the answer and I do not think we could ever know the answer!
