I would have loved to do chemistry. I was always good at chemistry and I used to tutor it all the time. There is just something special about having the ability to create a new chemical compound.

I think I would have continued further into chemistry. I loved the idea of combining different materials and solutions to create something new.

I also really liked the stars and may have enjoyed going into astronomy.

      Hi,
I think it would have been cool to study the adaptations of plants and animals to high elevations, maybe this would be ecology or evolutionary biology? Or hibernation- what an interesting process! But I’m happy studying as a molecular biologist/virologist because it lets me study a lot of different things at the molecular level.

Oh, that’s easy! I would have chosen mathematics. I actually applied to graduate school in mathematics, and in bioinformatics. It was really hard to choose between them, and I’m happy I did. But, if I couldn’t do what I’m doing now, I’d love to have gone into a mathematics program.

It’s funny, this question is also very easy for me to answer: I would have gone into high-energy and/or particle physics. Understanding the building blocks of the universe, and the shape of the universe, is as interesting to me as understanding the building blocks of the brain. Every now and again, I dip into physics research, just to see what’s going on and how creative people are in developing new ideas!
