I think there is a lot of evidence to suggest that time travel into the future is possible. If time worked exactly the same way everywhere, our cell phones and GPS devices wouldn’t work! There has to be what’s called a relative aspect of time, meaning it flows at different rates depending on where you are. So that means I could be in a place where time flows faster compared to you, which would mean that’s kind of like time travel! In fact, astronaut Scott Kelly, who recently spent almost a year on the International Space Station, aged very, very slightly slower than his twin brother Mark Kelly, who was on earth. So that means Scott Kelly is technically a time traveler!

I don’t know about time travel into the past, however. Strictly speaking, it could be possible, but we would have to change our understanding of how the universe is structured for it to make sense to us. Someday we may figure out how to travel backwards in time, but right now it seems like it can’t be done. But science figures out new stuff all the time – if we change our understanding of the universe, we may change our understanding of what’s possible within our universe!

      Probably not in our lifetimes.

I do not think travel to the past is possible. However, there is a lot of talk about the role of black holes in future time travel.

I won’t say that it’s impossible– we do all kinds of things today that were thought to be impossible in the past, and you never know when new discoveries will make crazy things a reality!
